1 year ago I conducted a 3 month long experiment. I put inexpensive eyelash serum on ONE eye for 3 months because I figured that was the best way to see if it worked. These are the initial results and my one year follow up.
I can probably just stop the post here and head right into the sales pitch. You don't need to squint, guess, or get out a measuring tape to know which eye I put the serum on.
I wasn't expecting such obvious results but a cheap Amazon eyelash serum actually worked and it worked really well. If that's all you wanted to know you can go ahead and buy it. No need to read further.
If you think you have no reason to believe me because I'm a blogger on the Internet, you're right. I could lie, I could Photoshop, I could do so many things and you have every right to question me.
Background Check
This has been a decade long venture for me, on and off trying to lengthen my eyelashes. My hope being that if I have luxurious lashes no one will notice if I have wrinkles in my shirt, dirty fingernails, gum in my hair ... you get the picture.
In 2017 I tried magnetic lashes which resulted in a decidedly psychotic look.
In 2019 I bought very expensive Latisse, prescription eyelash growth serum. It worked well but it was expensive and inconvenient to get because I had to have a prescription and drive half an hour to pick it up.
I'll only dedicate hours to growing my own potatoes - not eyelashes.
The Results
Results were so gradual they were barely noticeable. But by the end of 3 months the results were pretty extraordinary.
- Visibly longer lashes
- Noticeably more lashes
My results were from using the product once a day (their recommendation is actually twice a day) in a real life, haphazard manner. I was militant at first, then started forgetting to put it on, then got back on board ... In other words, I wasn't even terribly regimented about putting it on and it still worked well.
It boasts "Natural" ingredients, but you and I are educated. We know that statement is useless (much like the perforations on any cardboard, press your thumb here, box.)
This serum doesn't contain hormones or other things that are generally considered bad by people in lab coats.
Ingredients
For you science loving types, this is a list of the ingredients in the Terez & Honor lash and brow growth serum:
(But first to reiterate, this post isn't sponsored and I'm not faking the results)
Aqua, Glycerin, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-4, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17, Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, Aloe Ferox Leaf Juice, Wedelia Calendulacea Extract, Equisetum Arvense Extract, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Arginine, Panthenol, Biotin, Panax Ginseng Root, Biotin/Folic Acid/Cyanocobalamin/Niacinamide/Pantothenic Acid/Pyridoxine/Riboflavin/Thiamine/Yeast Polypeptides, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Pentylene Glycol, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract, Xanthan Gum
3 Types of Lash Growth Serums
Lash growth serums are built 3 different ways.
Chemical/Hormonal compounds
These are the ingredients in prescription serums, like the I tried, Latisse.
- Prostaglandin serums: Use hormone-like compounds, banned in cosmetics by Health Canada.
- Available only by prescription from a doctor.
- Sold as medication, not cosmetics, due to lack of long-term testing.
- Potential side effects: drooping eyelids, skin darkening, iris color change. (really quite rare occurrences)
- Long lashes last only with continuous medication use.
- Key ingredients: Prostaglandin (Bimatoprost) or analogues.
Botanicals
- Botanical extracts can improve lash health.
- Botanical products may cause allergic reactions in sensitive skin.
- Natural products have shorter shelf life after opening.
- Beneficial botanical ingredients include DHT blockers: Natural Grape & Pumpkin Seed Extracts, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract, Panax Ginseng Root.
Peptides
- Peptides promote lash growth by lengthening growth cycle.
- Different peptides serve different purposes targeting each phase of the lash growth cycle for.
- Look for listed peptides like Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17, and Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1.
- Peptide serums often contain conditioning and moisturizing agents: Biotin, Arginine, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Panthenol, Calcium Pantothenate, Niacinamide, Arctium Majus Root Extract.
This Terez & Honor serum is a combination of botanicals, peptides and a bunch of other things like pumpkin seed extract that deep down you'd never believe would actually make your lashes longer and fuller.
But it works, and I wanted to tell you about it.

Enhancing Eyelash Serum
$30 US (but now on sale for $25)
Update 1 Year Later
- It still works. 🤷♀️
- You need to remember to apply it a few times a week to maintain the length. Otherwise you'll wake up one morning with a bald eyeball.
- They now apparently make a different version of the same lash serum that's exclusively for eyebrows with a different applicator.
If you tried this serum when I first mentioned it almost a year ago, let me and everyone else know what your experience was like. Did they lengthen? Did it itch? Did you smartly apply it to both eyes?

Your experiment is fascinating! It's incredible to see such noticeable results with the Terez & Honor serum. I'm curious, have you considered combining it with natural options like castor oil or collagen for even more lash nourishment? Thanks for sharing your journey!

I’d love love to know if it works on eyebrows!!! I’m reasonably blessed in the eyelash department but not so much in brows. I think I over plucked in my youth and they just didn’t grow back. 😞

Hello Karen,
I just read your post about the magnetic eye lashes which did make me laugh but it reminded me of this post you did earlier this year that caught my eye and my eye lashes and since your post was sooo convincing, due to the fact that you only did one eye, I immediately pushed the go to "amazon" button on your blog (hope you got credit for it!) and ordered the eyelash & brow serum from Terez & Honor. This was back in February, it is now the end of April and I have seen 0, nada, change. I still have very little eye lash. I have been, for the most part compliant, maybe missing a day every so often but for the most part I have been faithful. I also have to say if by accident I get any in my eye it stings like a "mother.#$$er!! So any helpful info/advise you can give me, like keep going, only put it on at night, give up and be ugly, anything would be helpful!!
Love your posts, often times it is the highlight of my day which is sad to say. You guessed it, I live alone!.
Cheers,
Joy

Your lashes are gorgeous, Dahlin'! How many tubes did you have to use? I ordered one tube to use on my eyebrows. Last count, I had 8 hairs on my left eyebrow and about 13 on the right eye. Sure hope this stuff works for me as well as it did for you! Thanks for the info.
Karen
Hi Clara. I'm still on my first tube! And there seems to be a lot left still. Keep in mind I was only applying it to 1 eye, lol. Now that my post is written, I am applying it to both eyes. Good luck! ~ karen

I had to stop trying it after 3 days my eyes were so red and itchy I thought I would go crazy! I'll keep trying the brow gel . If it works I MAY try once more and use a little less and try not to get it in my eyes - but I am a little nervous. It was BAD! Grandma said you must suffer to be beautiful- but she didn't say anything about going blind 🤣
Karen
Gramma was right. BUT if it's making you itchy I'd stop using it on your eyes. You're probably sensitive to it. My niece tried (a different) lash serum and she had the same experience. Thanks for the update! ~ karen
Rae
I owe an update! I re-read the directions and tried again..you know why not ?! Turns out I was using WAY too much product and getting it in my eyes like a fool-
So with one pre-treat eye drop to protect my sensitive eyes and a careful sweep of the upper lid and letting it dry I am fine . I too have AMAZING lashes growing . Like 50% longer . I have grown out my eyebrows too. Glad I didnt give up !
Karen
Me too! Yes, you only use a very small amount. So small you don't think it could possibly work. But then it does. ~ karen!

I purchased this through the US link and noticed that it says "lashes and brows". I think I'll try it on my eyebrows too and hope I don't end up looking like Oscar the Grouch ;-)
Karen
Yes it's for both! I just didn't use it on my brows. ~ karen!
Deb from Maryland
I appreciate that you're willing to "guinea pig" for the greater good. I've already clicked on the US link to add to my cart. Can't wait to see a difference in my mid-60's skimpy eyelashes. Huzzah!
Karen
Betty has me convinced I'll never get them to even out again. I'll forever be playing eyelash catch up. ~ karen!
SH
Hi, was there any info anywhere about it working on lower lashes too? Seems like it would but I'm seeing just upper ones in ads etc.
Karen
Hi SH. It will work on lower lashes as well. (I don't put mascara on my lower lashes so I didn't worry about it) With this type of product though, you just put the serum on the upper lashes and then close your eyes while it dries. Enough of it transfers from the top lash line to the bottom apparently to work on them both. ~ karen!

Amazing, right?! I should ask everyone to send me results photos! ~ karen!
Sharon
How much serum did you use in 3 months?
Karen
I'm not sure because I still have some left. So I haven't gone through an entire bottle in 3 months. BUT I've also only been doing 1 eye, lol. ~ karen!
Marie
Hey, I want to be sure you earn a commission on sales! (cheaper than buying you dinner). Can you please add an US link?
Thank you!
Karen
Hi Marie! Thanks, yes there are a couple of links to the US. Near the bottom of the page, there's a photo and link with an American flag to show you which link is for the US. ~ karen!
Laurie
Thanks, already purchased via your US link!
Jenn Billesberger
Sold!! Ordering now - this will give me actual lashes to apply my false eyelashes to.
Karen
LOL! ~ karen

Interesting. Wonder if this would work on eyebrows as one of mine is almost completely missing now. Hate the fact that people can tell I have to draw it in.
Karen
It's supposed to also work on eyebrows, but I didn't try it so I can't guarantee that it will. But it worked really well for big floppy eyelashes. ~ karen!
Rae
It definitely works !! Get the brown one it has the right applicator . Be patient and it should work over a few months I bet . Slowly but surely 🍀

Thank you for doing this trial. I am heading to Amazon immediately to drop this in my cart. I had been (not so diligently) looking into lash serums. But was about to try a lash curling product, it lasts about 3 months and then you have to do again- like a perm for your eyelashes but of course all natural 😉 for sure.
Linda Wade
You never disappoint. Always truthful and funny. When I read your blog I always smile. Thank you.
Jennifer
Nice to know this stuff actually works! Thank you! I bought the same product on Amazon a couple years ago. I only used it for about a week before it mysteriously walked away (I have teen daughters…I suspect the one with great lashes is the one who took it. Ha) I just ordered some more with your link!
Ella
The Ordinary makes a great multi peptide lash and brow growth serum as well. It costs about $20 and is available pretty much anywhere in the world.

Michelle
Can this be used in conjunction with mascara?
Karen
Hi Michelle. Yes. Just apply it morning or night (or both). You just have to wait for it to dry a bit before you put on your mascara. ~ karen!
Randy P
Well first off, you DO have very pretty eyes. And assuming the pic is not a mirror image, and my aged ones are kinda sorta functioning I'm seeing your right eyelash as being more robust?
Just wondering, as this process needs regular application, how long does that $25 tube of magic goo last?
Karen
Excellent question Randy. I've been using it reguarlyish now for 3 months and I'm still on my first bottle. ~ karen! p.s. MY right eye has longer lashes.
Carol B.
I have been buying bimatoprost 0.03% (generic Latisse) for several years. My optometrist prescribes it for me for my eyelashes. I live in the US, and I buy it from a place in Canada (PharmStore.com) for $61.99 USD for three 3 mL bottles. I apply it with a brush from a non-prescription lash grower similar to what you used. They mail it free, and it's cheaper than the drugstore stuff. And it works!
Donna d
Good stuff Karen!
Where’s your Amazon link so I can help you help my eyelashes!

Ps found it!

Thanks Donna d! I truly was so shocked it worked. ~ karen!
